“There is a revolution in Cavite and you are invited to be part of it,” says Cavite Governor Erineo “Ayong” Maliksi as he addresses Caviteños during the celebration of the Kalayaan Festival at the Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit on June 12, 2008.

Maliksi does not refer to the uprising similar to what transpired in the province more than a century ago. Instead, he speaks of Cavite’s continued pursuit of excellence and success. He talks about the province’s quest to revolutionize the way the people of Cavite think and act; ensuring that they recognize their important role in building a province that every Caviteño and Filipino would be proud of. Thus the province’s new tagline
“Cavite: Be Part of the Revolution!”

The tagline encompasses the identity of Cavite which was introduced to the public during the culmination of the 2-week Kalayaan Festival dubbed as
“Katapangan ng Kabitenyo Noon, Ngayon, at Bukas”. Made vivid and exciting by float parades and street dancing; re-enactment of the declaration of the Philippine Independence; audio-visual presentations; and performances by Filipino singers and entertainers, the Kalayaan Festival was a fitting avenue for the province to share its culture, successes, and aspirations to all Caviteños and guests alike.
