Jimmy The Greek Snyder Racist Comment
Jimmy "The Greek" Snyder is fired after 12 years as a CBS football analyst for remarks he makes to a Washington, D.C, television reporter about the physical abilities of black and white athletes.

This is how Jimmy The Greek delivers his comment. He says the black athlete is "bred to be the better athlete because, this goes all the way to the Civil War when the slave owner would breed his big woman so that he would have a big black kid."

Snyder later apologizes for the comments but his career as a broadcaster is over.

Why Jimmy The Greek Is Now A Hot Term?
ESPN will air their "30 for 30" documentary on Jimmy the Greek on Tuesday November 10th. Though best known for his racist comment, Jimmy the Greek, born Jimmy Snyder in Ohio, was an NFL lines maker in Las Vegas and a sports announcer for about a decade. After nearly 20 years of very successful linesmaking in Las Vegas, Jimmy the Greek was offered a position on CBS's The NFL Today as a football analyst.

Jimmy The Greek

He held this position with great popularity until 1988, when he made racially-charged comments regarding African Americans. These comments caused CBS to fire him, and he spent the rest of his life living in Las Vegas until he passed away as a result of a heart attack on April 21, 1996.
