May 28, 2009 is the starting date of the very much awaited 5th Kalayaan Festival with this year's theme and new advocacy; "Cavite: Be Part of the Revolution".

A ground breaking event is set not to only strengthen the province's claim as the Historical Capital of the Philippines; being the cradle of Philippine revolution and birthplace of Philippine Independence but more to establish our new Cavite brand as our unique identity and convey its message which calls for all Cavitenios and other stakeholders to be part of the modern revolution towards the province's development.

Last May 23,2009, Me and my family went to Imus to visit some of our relatives. On our way, we encounter some sort of a program and a parade, for the sake of my curiosity, we stop for a while to watch and ask some folks of what is that all about, they told me, its the start of Imus Cavite Wagayway Festival 2009 program.

Here is a short post from Imus.Gov.PH website about the Wagayway Festival flag festivity.

Reminiscent of the nation’s history, the Municipality of Imus celebrated the first flag festival as it seeks to make itself known as the nation’s flag capital. The event derived its title from the fact that the first Philippine Flag which was sewn by Marcela Agoncillo in Hongkong was first unfurled in Imus on May 28, 1898 following a victory by Filipino revolutionaries against the Spanish forces at the battle of Alapan now known as “National Flag Day.”

Cavite sulitizens is a group/organization of all Cavitenio/Cavitenia member of Sulit.com.ph. The group is really active on the site's forum.

To those who are new (not so many, I guess) to Sulit.com.ph, I will give you some information about it.
