Danica Flores Magpantay is named and crowned as the 2011 Ford Supermodel of the World.

Danica Flores Magpantay is a 17-year-old newbie model. Danica stands 5’9” and weighs 109 lbs. She won the 2011 Ford Supermodel of the World 2011 at New York City. Danica Flores Magpantay is a student of Fine Arts at the University of the Philippines (UP). Danica Magpantay's mom; Lala Flores Magpantay was a Super Model of the Philippines back1990. Modeling indeed runs to the blood of Danica Flores Magpantay. Danica, the newest and the 2011 Ford model said that her mother help her a lot by enrolling her at the Masters School for Models where she took courses on walking and posing, among others.

Danica won a US$250,000 contract from the Eileen Ford Modeling Agency. It is the fashion industry’s biggest prize for a model search as of this moment.

This moment is also a historical one because, this is the first time that someone from the Philippines won the prestigious model search.

Bamboo Disbanded

Philippine famous and well known rock band "Bamboo" has decided to disband after 8 years of successful music grooving performances. KC Montero was the first to spread the news via Twitter. KC Montero tweeted:

“just announced by Kat on the show…Bamboo has officially split.”

The reason behind this disband is still unknown. We are still waiting for the official statement from the band members themselves.

Ebe Dancel Goes Solo, Leaves Sugarfree

Singer, songwriter and lead man of the band Sugarfree, Ebe Dancel has inked a new recording, publishing and management deal with Warner Music Philippines.

Ebe Dancel signed the contract with Warner Music sans his Sugarfree band mates. The “Hari Ng Sablay” singer is set to start recording his solo album this October.

Warner Music Philippines and Dancel already has an extensive track record of working together as the label has tapped the latter’s services in several musical projects in the past, as arranger and producer, specifically for bands like Sinosikat and General Luna.

Super Bowl XLV will be the 45th annual edition of the Super Bowl in American football, and the 41st annual championship game of the modern-era National Football League (NFL). The game, to be played on February 6, 2011, will pit the champions of the AFC and the NFC and will be held at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. This will be the first time that the Super Bowl will be held in the Dallas–Fort Worth area; the third time it will be held in Texas (Houston was the host city to Super Bowls VIII and XXXVIII); and, the fifth time the same city hosting the Super Bowl also hosted a World Series game the preceding autumn. Kickoff time is approximately 6:25pm EST.
